Artesanal is an exhibition linked to a teaching research project (PID) of the Escuela Superior de Diseño de Andalucía (ESADA), which consists of showing the best projects and designs of reused and self-built furniture of its second year students of the 2021-2022 academic year of the design degree with a speciality in interior design by means of a comparative-deductive methodology for the definition of the exhibition, designed and constructed in a totally handmade way by its curator (Álvaro Gor Gómez). The objectives pursued are the professional motivation of the students, the generation of a cultural event, improving the social attractiveness of the design school in connection with the city of Granada, promoting associative life, improving the professional environment and demonstrating that a good quality artistic exhibition can be carried out at a low economic cost. This exhibition of handmade design is part of the fight against climate change, against the relocation of labour and production,...
The project entitled "Personal Branding and Digital Footprint. Peer-to-peer correction" involving students from the Bachelor's Degrees in Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design and Product Design who were taking the subjects "Digital Marketing II" and "Marketing and Web Development II" during the second semester of the 2021/2022 academic year.
The aim of the project was twofold: on the one hand, for the participating students to begin to work and develop their digital footprint with a view to their professional future, and on the other hand, to learn first-hand what is involved in correcting a real project.
A collaborative work methodology was followed between the two subjects involved, sharing part of the syllabus and exchanging lectures from the teachers. The project was corrected by means of an established rubric, in which all the students assessed their classmates.
The development of the teaching innovation project has resulted in all the participating students starting...
The proposed teaching innovation consists of incorporating the 3D scanning process as a creative resource for first-year product design students, linked to the subject of vector representation.
The following tasks have been carried out:
Model making
Scanning from a portable structured light machine
Point cloud/mesh preparation
Post processing with mesh editor
Opening in modeller
Configuration of a new object
Obtaining STL models for 3D printing
One of the main functions of a university centre is the contribution of knowledge. Academic journals are a fundamental tool in this sense as they provide the possibility of disseminating new knowledge. This paper aims to show the process of creating a publication at the Escuela Superior de Arte y Diseño de Granada where the degrees of Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design and Product Design are taught. The articles will come from the adaptation to the article format of the most outstanding Final Projects of Studies in the field of innovation and/or research, carried out in this centre.
This is a teaching innovation project that arose with the intention of taking advantage of the existing relationship between Sculpture and Drawing as artistic disciplines, and that goes hand in hand with the very nature of Design as a discipline that combines the work and study of various technical teachings and artistic and cultural disciplines.
The idea, on the part of the author, is to help students to improve their ability to understand space and volume in drawing, taking advantage of their training and experience in Fine Arts. Certain changes will be incorporated into the syllabus of the subject in order to incorporate knowledge of space, volume and lighting more comprehensively.
Drawing shares with sculpture the ability to transform an idea into something tangible, and those who improve in drawing also improve in sculpture and vice versa. This ability can benefit design students, just as it does in higher art studies.
