My Erasmus+ Mobility for studies at ESADA: Didem Kaya, TED University
Didem Kaya, Interior Design student at TED UNIVERSITY (Turkey)
Erasmus+ Mobility for studies at ESADA from February to June 2023.
I am Didem Kaya and studying Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at TED University, Ankara, Turkey. Before I came to Granada, I actually had no idea about the city since it was the only choice for the exchange programme. Because of that reason, the whole experience was a surprise for me. It could have been bad or good. However, fortunately, it ended up well!
Granada is a multiple city in terms of cultures, so while you are discovering the city, you will see the diversity of cultures that have been in Granada for centuries. If you are interested in different cultures like me, you can enjoy its architecture, foods, and more. Especially, people in Granada are so intimate to spend good time, it is almost impossible not to feel the warm and sweet atmosphere even while walking on the street. They are the main reason why I really enjoyed the city.
The school ESADA also helps you to figure out the problems you face in there. Thanks to my classmates and Felix who really helped me a lot with everything related to school. Studying at another design school helped me to witness new perspectives on design, as well as allowing me to see the way they work and their thoughts. I think that every school has a different design principle and I think seeing the designs of ESADA and my classmates contributes to me architecturally. In addition, I would like to thank Victor for his help and for listening to every idea I presented with interest and always giving advice.
In addition to that, the city has many students living there, so it is extremely easy to be friends with anyone. Going out with friends at night and having a drink with tapas will make your day. In addition, I enjoyed traveling inside Spain and it was extremely nice to discover the Andalusian culture. Overall, I think this experience has improved me in every way. It was very enjoyable to experience new people, cities, atmospheres, and more. Granada will exist with a smile on my face every time I look back :)
