Dr. Zaki Aslan, President of the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM), visits ESADA
Zaki Aslan, Doctor Architect specialized in Islamic architecture, gave last week classes in the Official Master's Degree in Interior Design in Historic Buildings.
Last Thursday and Friday, April 6th and 7th, the students of the Master in Interior Design in Historic Buildings enjoyed two classes taught by Dr. Zaki Aslan. The sessions focused on the task of intervention and preservation of historical buildings, especially those related to Islamic architecture.
Zaki Aslan is the regional representative of ICCROM for the Arab States and founding director of the ICCROM-ATHAR Regional Conservation Center based in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Aslan provided technical advice to the Arab States on issues related to heritage conservation, management, and national policies and policies; World Heritage Procedures; Implementation of field projects; and, education, public extension, capacity building and curriculum development.
