Do we remember our childhood by objects characteristic of it? Does the place where we are born define our culture?

Culture is a broad concept that encompasses the beliefs, values, customs, traditions, art and way of life of a group of people. Throughout history, there has been an immense diversity of these throughout the world, each with its own characteristics. In Latin America, there is a rich and little explored culture. Various objects can serve as a link to it and to your childhood memories if you have lived there, or can spark your interest in exploring it.

This is what I want to achieve with this project, to be able to transmit home through a simple object, that makes you remember these emotions. That is why this project will be focused on a small part of Colombian culture: handicrafts.

This project is developed as a captivating journey into the world of desktop objects design. Our starting point? A brand of our choice. Within the scope of this company, we have developed a collection of functional and aesthetically pleasing products for the modern workspace.

The chosen company, Tucurinca, specializes in designer chairs made with traditional techniques inspired by the experiences of the Colombian Caribbean. One of the main purposes of the brand is the recovery of these methods to create modern design furniture.

This collection consists of three objects: a filing cabinet, a computer stand, and an interwoven cork; all of them made of pvc cord, pine wood and aluminum rods.

These objects are more than desk accessories; they are a representation of an appreciation for the traditional techniques and artistic expressions of the Colombian Caribbean. With this we want the future buyer to generate memories and, therefore, an emotional attachment to this collection.
